Justin on Serenity
“The world is a reflection of ourselves. What we see without is an accurate measure of what we are within. If there is serenity inside, the outside world seems friendly. When we go to a strange place with our hands outstretched and open, willing to offer whatever we have to give, the reception is warm, we make new friends, and life is joyous. But if we grasp, if we manipulate and exploit, the result is different. Our vibration is changed, our appearance is uninviting, and we repel others.” – Justin Stone, Climb the Joyous Mountain: Living the Meditative Way
Justin on Contentment
“With all this urge to discontent, how can we achieve peace of mind and health and vigor of the body? Without these, how much is life worth, no matter how much we ‘own?’ … What do we really ‘own?’ Do we possess the flowers, the evening sky, the soft snow … the seasons that come and go in orderly progression? Do we even control them? These are profound questions that should be studied and the answers can change our attitudes.” – Justin Stone, Spiritual Odyssey / Selected Writings: 1985-1997, 2nd ed.
GRATITUDE
“If you want a good life, be grateful.” – Justin Stone
JUSTIN: BLISS OF THE THOUGHTLESS STATE
“It is not easy to make the monkey-mind still, and it cannot be forced to be so. Yogis who try forcibly to restrain the mind are on the wrong track. Hold out the bliss of the thoughtless state to the mind and, as it becomes used to it, the mind will go there with no effort….The stillness is always there…. – Justin Stone, Climb the Joyous Mountain: Living the Meditative Way
Happy 95th Birthday, Justin
Many well-wishing TCC teachers and students had the great fortune to celebrate Justin’s 95th birthday in Albuquerque, NM this weekend. The party was held Saturday night at the TCC center; Sunday was his actual birthday. Words just cannot express our gratitude for his teachings.

Justin: The importance of teachers’ TCC practice
